Darlington School Soccer Academy’s U19 MLS NEXT boys came from behind to defeat Kings Hammer Nashville 2–1 on Saturday, extending their unbeaten streak and remaining at the top of the division.
Kings Hammer took the lead in the ninth minute after Darlington misplayed the ball while building out of the back. The boys stayed composed and, just as they did last week, mounted another second-half comeback.
Brody Wheaton brought Darlington level in the 65th minute. Ten minutes later, Hugo Enander scored the go-ahead goal, assisted by Andres Molina Torres.
But the match was not over. On the final play, Kings Hammer appeared poised to equalize from a corner kick. A header was headed for the upper right corner until Darlington goalkeeper Andres Viteri leaped at full extension and made a remarkable save to preserve the win.
It took a response at both ends of the field to earn all three points: two goals to overturn the early deficit and one final save to finish the job.
Scoring: Kings Hammer Nashville 9′; Brody Wheaton 65′; Hugo Enander 75′ (assist: Andres Molina Torres).
